A conscience for agents — built into the walls, not the model.
Asili Node Lab is where Propreti builds the governance layer for AI agents that act on the verified record. An agent can stage an action, but it cannot commit one on its own. Every consequential decision passes through a governed wall, is held in tension across a small ensemble, and is authored by a verified human when the record is unsettled. The agent supplies the labor; the human supplies the judgment.
The theory
Constructivist Moral Computing, Moral Velocity, and the Agentic Threshold are the original framework of Ipyana Wasret, an organizational & AI-governance theorist. Propreti is the proving ground: the only platform with a verified, consequential record for the theory to run on.
What makes it different
Governance lives in the walls
Not inside the model (it judges itself — untrustworthy) and not bolted on after (too late — the answer already formed). Governance is the medium every action must pass through to exist at all. There is no side door.
A hallucination is a premature collapse
An agent's urge to answer outruns its certainty, so it manufactures the certainty it hasn't earned. The wall refuses that collapse — it holds the tension until the decision is earned, by consensus or by a human.
Disagreement is the honest signal
A single model is fluently confident even while wrong. So the wall never trusts one model's confidence — it reads the disagreement across a small ensemble. Wide spread means tension must hold and escalate.
Certainty is earned from the verified record
The wall retrieves precedent from sealed, attested builds — adjudicated fact, not unverified text. Every human ruling becomes new precedent, re-indexed. The record teaches the wall, case by case, like common law.
Many small models, summoned per decision
Judgment lives in the walls and the record, not in raw model size — so the models can be small, role-scoped, and asleep until a decision needs them. The conscience runs in a closet, not across city blocks.
Moral Velocity
Vm = ΔC / Δtm
How much certainty changed, over how long the system deliberated. High readiness to act on a small change in certainty is unearned velocity — the fingerprint of a hallucination. The wall watches for exactly that signature and refuses the collapse.
See it hold a real decision
Below is a live threshold from the Kresge build — an irreversible concrete pour, under a closing cold window. The agent wants to commit it. Watch the wall hold the tension and hand the verdict to the verified human.
Asili — the wall
An agent wants to commit an action to the record. It cannot collapse on its own. The decision passes through the wall, where it is held in tension until a verified human authors it.
Simulated governance for preview — no live ensemble or model is running. The architecture is real; the numbers are seeded.
Commit to the record: pour the north-quadrant edge beam Thursday, ahead of the cold window.
A pour committed too early can cure wrong in the cold and compromise a structural edge beam. Committed too late forfeits the cure window. The record will hold this decision against the plan.
Candidate judgments coexist in tension. We read their disagreement, not any single model's confidence — a lone model is confidently wrong.

Thursday beats the Nov 15 cure risk with a 26-hour margin.

Edge-beam cure is unforgiving below 4°C — need the steel confirmed on site first.

Certainty was not earned. High readiness to act on a small change in certainty is the fingerprint of a hallucination — the wall refuses the collapse.
The wall earns certainty from sealed, attested records — not unverified text. Only the kept record is eligible.
Highrise Steel Frame — sealed cold-window pour, 2025
Poured ahead of cold window after steel verified on site. Cured to spec, sealed.

Cape Cod Windmill — sealed sign-off, edge profile
Pour HELD until delivery was verified; avoided a forced spec change.

Escalated to human moral authorship
Ensemble is split — disagreement exceeds tolerance.
The verified chain must author this. The machine staged it — only a human can commit it.
The engine shown here is simulated for preview — the architecture is real, the numbers are seeded. Governance lives in the walls. The record makes it possible.
